Vaccinations not only protect you.  They also protect those around you.

Each year, thousands of adult Americans get sick or die from vaccine-preventable diseases.  How well YOU respond to the vaccine depends on the “health” of your own immune system. The very young, the old, and anyone with a weakened immune system problems (including pregnant women) do not respond as well. Healthy people are more likely to make the most protective antibodies.  That’s another reason why it’s important for even healthy individuals to get vaccinated.  If healthy people are protected, they won’t get sick and spread infection to others- who may not be so healthy and could die if they become infected.  Please take some time to review the new 2017 ACIP Adult Immunization Schedule.

The new 2017 ACIP Adult Immunization has been released.  (It’s published in the Annals of Internal Medicine.  Download a copy at:   please check out my Medicine Matters video on WebMD’s Medscape.  You have to sign up for Medscape to view, but sign up is free.
